With reference to https://bugs.launchpad.net/shroudbnc/+bug/717029 i'm receiving the problem outlined by oidentd dealing with concurrent connections, this is giving users the wrong ident when connecting to an IRC server.

Is there any temporary workaround for the moment for 1.2? Is it possible to use a different ident daemon, e.g. ident2 or would I still experience the same issues as specified in the bug report?

there's a workaround for that in 1.3 - you might want to try the beta and see if it fixes your problem. Up-to-date links to the beta version are in #sbnc.beta's topic (on QuakeNet).
